Allen County Department of Planning Services
A fence up to 8 feet high is allowed behind and to the side of a house on lots that are not at a street intersection or corner in a subdivision, while front-yard fences are limited to 2.5 feet. The City of Fort Wayne has no separate building department of its own; fence and building permits for both the city and the rest of Allen County are issued through the same county Department of Planning Services and Allen County Building Department.
