Fence Installation Permits in Killeen
Local Rule
City of Killeen Building Inspections; City of Killeen Code of Ordinances
Killeen requires a building permit to erect a new fence or move an existing one, and to repair or replace an existing fence where the repair exceeds 25 linear feet of the original fence within a 12-month period; applications go through the city's MGO Connect online portal. Chain-link fences are capped at 4 feet in the front yard and 6 feet in the side and rear yard, with gate openings at least 3 feet wide; commercial and apartment chain-link fences must be green or black vinyl-coated. For new fences of wood, PVC, stone, brick, or R- and U-panel metal facing a public street, the smooth, finished side must face outward with support posts on the interior side. Pool enclosures must be at least 4 feet high with no opening large enough for a 4-inch sphere to pass through, and all doors or gates opening into the enclosure need self-closing, self-latching devices.
